Marta Acosta of Vampire Wire recently held the Ultimate Hawtest Vampire Poll to discover who is the Hawtest Vampire, and okay, so my first choice [Spike] didn't win *pout*, but I'm still totally happy with the vamp that did, and if you haven't guessed by now it was ...
*Drumroll*
The Ultimate Hawtest Vampire is Henry Fitzroy of "Blood Ties," as played by Kyle Schmid! Kudos to Kyle for projecting vampilicious hawtness in his portrayal of a crime-solving, comic-book drawing, unrepentent blood-drinker!

Sorry but once I saw Blood Ties there was no other favorite. Blood Ties and Henry/Kyle will be my first and last favorite vampire show and vamp. Kyle played Henry so well, with just the perfect amount of arrogance and aristocracy that you totally believed that he was the 450 year-old son of Henry VIII. And the thing that was so incredibly unbelievable is that Kyle was ONLY 22 when he played Henry. I've seen most of the other vampires and they pale in comparison.
My favorite vampire series would have to be Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
I've not seen Blood Ties since we don't have HBO. I don't watch much TV. I think Buffy and Angel are now captioned but I want to find the DVD's from the beginning! I loved Mick in Moonlight! That was one I knew that was on and had myself sit in front of the TV to watch! Gosh, I just wished the didn't cancel it!
Yep that poll and videos too that was on Vampire Wire was neat! I ended up finding a bunch I wanted to watch! Since I did know 'of' a couple of actors, I could pick too Gerald Butler (yum). (But I never saw him in a movie, LOL).
I shall go post this on my links:
www.myspace.com/auntcaffey
www.caffeys-reads.blogspot.com
If I can figure out how to use my Twitter and Facebook, I'll post on there too!
I'll go work on that now! I love to spread the word!
I know I am going to seem very old fashioned but I grew up watching all the Hammer Films movie series of Dracula and they remain my favourites to this day as does Vincent Price as the ultimate Dracula.
Sorry to show my age :)
Carol
ohh now i always loved Ultra violet, dodgy British series that came out about 1998....and NO ONE else remembers it ~lol~ ever...
i rember after coming out of hospital watching it back to back and being so distraught when it ended...
and for those heathens that have never seen it.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultraviolet_(TV_serial)
..there can only be one.. Spike!! So, definitely Buffy!
Very close runner up has to be Ultraviolet!
I loved Angel from the Buffy series and my favorite vamp from a film is Stuart Townsend from Queen of the Damned.
maggiemay: LOL! I totally agree about Kyle's acting abilities, brilliant :-)
Rylie: Yay! Buffy rocks :-)
Caffey: I loved Moonlight too! And I was so disappointed when it was cancelled *sigh*. Thanks for the links, much appreciated :-)
buddyt: I haven't seen as many of the golden classics as I want to [need more time *sigh*]but the ones I have seen are great, but then they're about vamps, so ... why wouldn't they be? :-)
Harlot: Ahh, I know Ultra violet, if I remember right, the best pal who disappeared came back as a vamp [although I didn't manage to catch all the episodes before they took it off again] now you've reminded me, I shall look out for it being repeated :-)
Michaela: 'There can only be one.. Spike!!' Oh yes! *g*
tetewa: Angel and Stuart Townsend ~ that's some combination *fans herself* :-)
I tweeted (here) and I'll try to post something on Facebook later.
@Harlot: I have indeed seen Ultraviolet. In fact, when the movie of the same name was announced, I assumed it was a transfer of the TV series until I was sadly disabused of the notion.
As for favourites, I actually rather liked Near Dark: anyone recall that one?
I've only seen one episode of Blood Ties. But my all time favorite is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I even like the Movie.

Am loving Blood Ties - such a good show...can't remember if they are making a second series, I hope they are. Henry is scrummy. He has the sexy insolence thing down to a t. Did you know he was in the movie, Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants? He doesn't say a single word in that movie and is visible for maybe two - four minutes.
As has already been mentioned, Ultraviolet the TV series, simply because it was so different at the time.
All of which makes me think I should try and watch it again sometime.
- Neil.

I don't think I've ever seen Blood Ties but the title is fascinating. So many great ideas comes to mind (probably due to all of those paranormal romances I'm addicted to, lol).
I hope everyone will share the love of great books and pass the word! :)
My favorite vampire TV show is most definitely True Blood! The vamps are all so hawt!
I LOVE Blood Ties! But I also really liked Moonlight and I'll always love me some Vampire Chronicles. I just love vampires in general lol. Except for the 30 Days of Night type. Not really a horror fan. So it's hard for me to choose a fave but BT is definitely at the top. I really enjoyed Kyle's portrayal of Henry so much he inspired me during my own vampire hero creation hehe.
Looking forward to checking out the Cold Kiss of Death. I have the Sweet Scent of Blood in my TBR pile and I'm slowly chipping away to get to it before the second book is released. Would be awesome to get an autographed copy!

Henry Fitzroy will always be my favorite vampire but I did love Brahm Stoker's Dracula with Gary Oldman. I loved the way it stayed with the old vampire myth and legend. So many of the shows now kind of get away from that. Kyle Schmid did give us the hottest and sexiest bastard prince that has ever been created...vamp or otherwise. Henry will never be forgotten.
i've never seen blood ties... actually i've never watched any of the vampire series :( we have basic cable so our options for choice television programs are pretty crappy!
favourite vampire film? interview with a vampire, twilight, the lost boys.
thanks for the chance to win!

Hi Suzanne!
Picked you up from Vampire Wire.
I love Blood Ties...sadly live in the US, so the DVD probably not going to work.
One of my favorite vamp tv shows..beside Blood Ties, Moonlight, and Dark Shadows (scared the crap out of me as a kid)
My favorite vamp movies... Twilight, Lost Boys, Dracula 2000...I can name more.
Thanks for the great giveaway!
Dottie :)
I blogged your giveaway and linked it back through the pic @ http://myblog2point0.blogspot.com/

I loved Blood Ties, but Buffy was probably my favorite vampire series. Although, I do think that Henry/Kyle is one of the hawtest vampires out there.
I posted here:

I think I should be hanging my head in shame here, but I've never seen Blood Ties. I definitely want to though - maybe my next project.
My fave vamp tv would have to be true blood, although buffy did kick ass when it was around.

As for Vampire TV series, my favorite outside of Blood Ties is probably True Blood. Although I love Moonlight too. And as for movies, there are so many great ones to pick from. Right now, as I glance at the comments, I don't see Underworld mentioned yet but thats another favorite vampire movie of mine.
Also, I posted your contest up at my blog: http://ladyvampire2u.blogspot.com/2009/05/suzanne-mcleods-new-release-and-contest.html

Not so many vampire series over here, so my favorite is Buffy.
Moonlight is my favorite. Was saddened when they ended the series so quickly. I felt they should've let it run longer.
I will twitter it from @fantasydreamer
My favorite tv show would be either Kindred The Embraced or Buffy. My favorite movies are The Lost Boys, Buffy, Underworld & Twilight.
Thanks! :0)

This is so cool, would love to win since I haven't seen Blood Ties.
As for my fav show, I do have to go with Angel on that won. Cool show. But he is not the hottest, then who is...my mind is empty, I guess there are no hunky vamps out there

The Lost Boys would have to be my favourite, my first camp crush.
Close second is Underworld for bit touch of female vamp attitude. If only for the brilliant leather outfits!

My favourite vampire movies will always be Interview with the Vampire, mostly because I'm a huge fan of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles and Dracula because of ultimate awesomness of Gary Oldman. But recently I came across another really good one - Let the Right One in (the book is great too). As for TV - here I really can't decide - I love Blood Ties, of course, because omg, Henry and I've been watching it from the beginning. But I also love the recent BBC series Being Human which features an awesome vampire Mitchell (among the others). Highly recommended, btw. I'm also a big fan of True Blood.
Argh, can't decide. See, you ask too hard questions. ;) I guess Dracula and Henry win - because I have a thing for Counts and Dukes. :)))
I'm really happy about the new book because I love vampire books (and I like books even more than movies :P) and I've already read all the Blood Books I have and started to look for something for the summer. :)
So I posted the news where I could:
