Weddings + Apples + Magic Slays - Ilona Andrews! (giveaway)

Giveaway now closed! Winner will be announced soon . . .

The Cold Kiss of Death is out now in the US (Thanks to everyone who's bought it! You Rock!) and in the UK now, and The Bitter Seed of Magic is out now in the UK (December 27 in the US).  So, this is the last of my 16 weeks of celebratory giveaways, and this week's is a book I'm really looking forward to get my sticky little reading hands on. *g*

*Cue Drumroll*

Magic Weds, err, sorry, Slays (Kate Daniels, Book 5) UK by Ilona Andrews!

Blurb from Amazon:

Kate Daniels has quit the Order of Merciful Aid, but starting her own business isn't easy when the Order starts disparaging her good name. And being the mate of the Beast Lord doesn't bring in the customers, either. So when Atlanta's premier Master of the Dead asks for help with a vampire, Kate jumps at the chance. Unfortunately, this is one case where Kate should have looked before she leapt.

Ooooooh!! *WANTS* :-D

So what do you have to do to be in with a chance of winning Magic Slays (or your choice of an earlier book in the series)? Well since Kate and Curran got together in Magic Bleeds, and today saw another Kate marry her Prince . . . (not that I'm suggesting there will be a wedding in Magic Slays . . . but who knows!!! *g*) leave me a comment telling me something you enjoy about weddings. Me, I always look forward to seeing the cake cut, and raising a glass of bubbly to wish the happy couple well!

Many congratulations to the Royal Couple!
I wish them a long, happy, loving and healthy life together!

How to enter:

Leave a comment about something you enjoy at weddings.

Please leave a way to contact you (email in comment: Please remember to replace @ with [at] to forestall spam - or your twitter name - no way to contact you - no entry).

Giveaway is international and closes end of day (GMT time) 9th May 2011.

Full General Terms and Rules at the bottom of this post here.

You can get an extra entry by tweeting about the giveaway. Leave the link to the tweet as an extra comment.

Please note: My usual blog policy is that I try to reply to all comments on the blog, but for ease of admin I won't be replying to any comments made on any of the giveaway posts during the 16 weeks. Sorry, but it makes it much harder to sort out the winner. However I do read and enjoy all the comments, and will, of course, continue to reply to comments on any other post, so if you have a question for me, leave it on one of those, thank you :-)

All book links lead to Amazon (UK/US) or the Book Depository, and contain affiliate links. I've decided to go affiliate as I love giving books away (and not just as a way of shameless self-promo), but boy, does it get expensive.

*waves* Hi Suzanne! Hope you're well.

My favorite part of a wedding -this is so cheesy- is when the doors open to reveal the bride, and everyone is looking at her, I like to look at the groom. The look on his face is priceless. :)

...i did warn you that it was cheeseball. And I couldn't just say "open bar" now could I? ;)

My favorite part of any wedding is when the Priest announces the couple Man and Wife. The look on their faces is the one to capture. That precise moment when they realize what they'd done, and if they are truly in love, they just glow.

I uh...well, actually weddings scare me. From the long-winded formal religious ceremonies, to the cutesy sweet hand-written vows to the strains of Bohemian Rhapsody announcing the 8 months pregnant bride in her maternity gown. I sit there, plaster a big smile on, and think "Are they done yet? I'm hungry."

Yeah, I'm that friend. It's not that I don't care: I'll bring you your presents, congratulate you, and then start calculating how long the relationship lasts before divorce. It's usually about 2 years - at least in the experience of all my friends.

But I won't do that to your face of course. It's your day. You deserve to be happy

So I guess my favorite part is the open bar at the reception. I like "free" stuff. ^_~

Thank you so much for this giveaway :).

My favorite part of the whole wedding ritual starts when the ceremony ends with the kiss, everyone walks back down the aisle looking happy, and then the reception. That time is my favorite because it's like the very beginning of the new relationship and a relief (for the parents or other worried individuals involved) that these two people really did go through with it and get married. My mom actually skipped through the doorway when she went back down the aisle after my oldest sister got married, and I will forever think of weddings in a lighthearted way because of that.

I like the first time the groom sees the bride in her dress (and she sees him in his suit). All the drama of the day just comes down to a boy and a girl (yeah, even if they're in their 50s!) making a promise to each other, and right then, nobody else matters, and the bride is the most beautiful girl in the world and the groom is the hero of her very own love story.

It's like they finally understand how bound to each other they are and that neither of them will ever be lonesome again. Life is just starting anew for them. It's a slip second look before everyone in the room starts cheering for them and their attention then drifts to the crowd. For me its a magical moment.
